Snapdeal seems to be on a roll these days. The e-commerce giant had earlier announced to start delivering cash at the doorstep, and now in another delivery-centric move, the company is all set to start home delivery service for Reliance Jio SIM. Snapdeal has already begun sending e-mails to its select customers, which states that the distribution of Jio SIM cards is a 'token of gratitude.' These users will get the Jio SIM free of cost and for documentation they just have to present their valid Aadhar card number.

The Jio SIM cards delivered by Snapdeal will come with Jio’s Happy New Year Offer; wherein customers will enjoy free 4G data, SMS, voice calling, and a subscription to Jio apps till March 31. Snapdeal will be taking care of activation of the SIM card. In the e-mail, Snapdeal has provided a link which redirects the user to an online form asking for contact details and address. The form also allows users to select a desired date and time for the delivery of Jio SIM card at their doorstep.

In the form, the user also has to acknowledge his/her Aadhar card number. After submitting the form, the user will receive an automated confirmation message on the registered number (given in the form) containing delivery details including date and time. These SIM cards will be delivered by a Jio representative, who will be responsible for activating the new Jio SIM.

Amidst all the heat that Reliance is facing from rival telcos for ‘Happy New Year' offer, this move by Snapdeal and Jio might just add fuel to the fire. Also, Jio is working on its own invite-based doorstep delivery setup for its SIM cards. Snapdeal is already selling Jio products on its platform including JioFi and LYF phones. The company has not created a landing page for Jio SIM yet, but now that the news is out, we expect to see it soon.
