Under the hood of the 5.5-inch model will be an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor paired with 3GB RAM. 16MP rear camera, 8MP front-facing camera, and Android 7.0 Nougat operating system are the other speculations about the features. In the 5-inch Nokia D1C model, Nokia is expected to accommodate a 2GB RAM and 13MP rear camera. Other features may remain similar to that of the 5.5-inch variant, said the report. The website has also leaked a few images claimed to be that of Nokia D1C.

Nokia revealed its plan to return to the smartphone market at the company’s Capital Markets Day 2016. The smartphone was earlier reported to have passed AnTuTu and Geekbench ratings as well. The newly leaked specifications match the features revealed in the benchmarking sites. Nokia has reportedly outsourced the manufacturing of Nokia D1C to HMD Global, which will pair Nokia’s patents and brand with Foxconn’s research, development and manufacturing to make the new Nokia smartphones.

The Chief Executive Officer Rajeev Suri is delivering a keynote speech at the event, during which he would also announce the company's return to the smartphone market.

Moreover, Nokia is expected to introduce its interest in virtual reality segment and its new tablet, all hinting the company’s strong come back to consumer electronics.
