HTC is prepping itself to launch the successor to the One M9, and the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer would like to fiercely compete with Samsung and Apple this year with the HTC One M10. It was once considered to be one of the best Android smartphones manufacturer, but its stature has obviously decreased in the recent past due to some of its product decisions.
Now, a few important details about the upcoming HTC One M10, including its specifications, have been revealed. Evan Blass, someone who has a solid track record when it comes to leaking unreleased information about smartphones, has reported on VentureBeat that the HTC One M10 will come with an AMOLED display, Snapdragon 820 processor, and a 12-megapixel camera.

For one, HTC is switching back to AMOLED displays for its high-end smartphones, and it's not surprising to see that. AMOLED displays were always known for better colours, higher contrast, and deeper black levels when compared to LCD displays, but they were notoriously power hungry while displaying white colours. Now, the AMOLED technology has improved enough now that it can compete with LCD panels even when it comes to power efficiency as well as brightness levels.
The HTC One M10 will reportedly feature a 5.1-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels, and it will be protected using a Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB RAM, and 32GB of internal storage space. It will also feature a microSD card slot, so that users can expand the storage capacity of the One M10. It will also come preloaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with HTC Sense UI 8.0 on top of it. Also, it will come with a fingerprint sensor inside its home button, similar to the HTC One A9 and the Samsung Galaxy S6.
In terms of imaging, the HTC One M10 will feature a 12-megapixel UltraPixel camera with a large sensor, resulting in larger per-pixel size improving the image quality. Moreover, the camera will be accompanied by an optically stabilised lens (OIS), dual-tone dual-LED flash, laser autofocus, and 4K video recording. Nothing has been revealed about the front-facing camera's resolution, but it is said to feature OIS as well. This brings the HTC One M10 in line with Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S7, which is said to have a 12-megapixel camera with OIS as well.
There's one catch though. HTC is said to have removed its famous BoomSound front-facing stereo speakers from the One M10. Long-time HTC fans might get disappointed if this report turns out to be true. However, its not like Samsung and LG are providing stereo speakers. Unlike Samsung and LG, HTC won't be unveiling the One M10 during MWC 2016, and it is being expected that HTC will announce it sometime in March 2016. So, what do you think about the HTC One M10?
