Sony Xperia Z5 Dual and Xperia Z5 Premium with 4K display made official in India, starting at Rs. 52,990

As expected, Sony has finally launched the Xperia Z5 Dual and Xperia Z5 Premium in India. The Xperia Z5 Dual has been priced at whopping Rs. 52,990, while the Xperia Z5 Premium has will be retailing at even higher price of Rs. 62,990. The Z5 Dual will be up for sale from October 23, while the Z5 Premium will go on sale from November 7.

The Xperia Z5 comes a 5.2-inch 1080p display whereas the Z5 Premium comes with a larger 5.5-inch 4K UHD display. The Xperia Z5 Premium is dubbed as the first ever smartphone to come with a 4K UHD display at a resolution of 4096 x 2160 pixels. Powering both the devices is a Snapdragon 810 processor paired with 3GB RAM. There is 32GB of internal storage space on both the smartphones, which can be further expanded up to 2TB.

Both the handsets run Android 5.1 Lollipop, and sport 23-megapixel primary cameras with ‘fast autofocus’ technology coupled with focusing speed of 0.03 seconds. These are completely new Exmor RS sensors with “advanced image stabilisation technology” and 4K video recording abilities. Both the devices also feature a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. In the connectivity department, both the devices support dual-SIM, 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/ GLONASS, and NFC.

Xperia-Z5-premium-back-doubleMoreover, both the devices also feature fingerprint sensors, but not on the home button or on the back, rather on the side panel of the devices. Pretty much like previous Sony Xperia smartphones, these devices too come with IP67 certification for making the device dust and waterproof, but not on the Micro-USB port, which has no waterproofing on the inside. The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is equipped with a 3,630 mAh battery, while the Xperia Z5 Dual is equipped with a 2,900 mAh battery. Both the phones are equipped with Sony’s famous STAMINA mode for long-lasting battery life.

The Xperia Z5 Premium will be available in Gold, Green and Black color variants, and the Xperia Z5 Dual will be available in Gold and Chrome color variants. Sony will be running special offers for the buyers, it will be giving away goodies worth Rs. 4,000 on the purchase of the new range of Xperia Z5 series.
