Bharti Airtel the largest telecom operator in India has launched its Platinum 3G in two more cities. Platinum 3G is the name that Airtel has given its 3G offering in the sub 1 GHZ frequency zone using 900 MHz band 8 to provide HSPA+ services. The rationale behind using a lower frequency band is to provide better coverage indoors which the traditional 3G on band 1 2100MHz is not able to deliver.
