Lenovo has been making constant progress in the Indian smartphone market due of its value-for-money offerings in the sub-Rs. 10,000 price segment. However, it hasn’t been able to replicate that success in the high-end segment as majority of its devices that cost above the Rs. 10,000 market have not really lived up to the expectations. However, Lenovo is keen on changing that with the launch of the Lenovo Vibe Shot next week. The device was showcased back during MWC 2015 earlier this year, and now the Chinese OEM has started hinting towards its launch.
Lenovo has just started sending out media invites for an August 24 event, which states that the company would like to invite the media for a photography workshop with Hannah Reyes, a renowned National Geographic photographer. As the name suggests, the Lenovo Vibe Shot is an out and out camera-centric device. Even its design resembles that of a dedicated point-and-shoot camera. The rear of the device gets a 16-megapixel camera with a tri-colour LED flash and the front gets an 8-megapixel camera. The primary camera also gets Optical Image Stabilisation. It also gets a dedicated camera button. The smartphone has a 5-inch full HD display, runs Android 5.0 Lollipop and a Snapdragon 615 chipset ticks under the hood.
Lenovo Vibe Shot specifications:
- 5-inch IPS LCD display, 1920 x 1080 pixels, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection
- Android 5.0 Lollipop-based Vibe UI
- Snapdragon 615 chipset (1.7GHz quad-core + 1.0 GHz quad-core CPU), Adreno 405 GPU, and 3GB RAM
