Asus is on a launch spree with its ZenFestival 2015. It has just announced the launch of a new smartphone called the Zenfone Max which comes with a 5,000mAh battery that can also be used to charge other phones. The pricing for the device hasn’t been revealed yet but will instead be revealed in October this year when this goes on sale.
The Asus Zenfone Max is just 5.2mm thick which makes it one of the slimmest devices around. The fact that Asus managed to put in such a large battery in a really thin frame is noteworthy. It comes with dual SIM 4G and both the SIM card slots support Indian bands. It gets a Snapdragon 410 chipset under the hood and has a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Here’s a quick look at its specifications:
Zenfone Max specifications
- 5.5-inch display, 1280 x 720 pixels, Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection
- Android 5.0 Lollipop with Zen UI 2.0
- Snapdragon 410 chipset, 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU, Adreno 306 GPU
- 2GB RAM
- 8GB/16GB internal memory, expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB)
- 13-megapixel rear camera, real tone flash, f/2.0 aperture, laser auto focus
- 5-megapixel front camera, f/2.0 aperture, 85-degree wide lens
- Dual SIM 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS
- 5,000 mAh battery
The market for devices with big battery backups is growing at a pretty brisk pace and if Asus prices it right like the other models, we may just have a winner on our hands too.
