Vodafone starts offering ‘Double Data’ benefits for pre-paid customers

To further encourage adoption of data as well as to reward existing data users, Vodafone, Mumbai’s leading telecom service provider has launched ‘Double Data’ offer. Under the offer pre-paid customers availing data recharge via 121 or through the special offers section on the Vodafone website and MyVodafone app, will enjoy double the value of the chosen data pack. This offer is valid on all Vodafone pre-paid data recharge packs offered in Mumbai starting 1st week of August.


Vodafone has always stayed ahead of the market trends and successfully catered to customer requirements. Data has been a key contributor to Vodafone’s popularity and growth in Mumbai. The smart phone market in Mumbai is on a continuous ascend, 82 percent of Vodafone’s user base in Mumbai has data enabled handsets.

Elaborating the benefits of the ‘Double Data’ offer, Ishmeet Singh, Business Head- Mumbai, Vodafone India, said, “We are the preferred telecom service provider of Mumbaikars. More than 57% of our subscribers today use mobile internet, primarily for surfing, email, social networking sites, etc. Over the last few quarters both the number of data users as well as the consumption of data per user has significantly risen. This ‘Double Data’ offer is our way of gratifying our valued pre-paid customers for choosing Vodafone as their preferred mobile internet provider. We are offering them double value and encouraging new data users to explore the wonders of the internet using Vodafone’s Faster Smarter, Better 3G service. A host of data packs to cater to various customer categories and usage patterns are being offered. In line with Vodafone’s signature style, we will also be going live with a creative campaign on Vodafone’s ‘Double Data’ initiative, beginning the first week of August.”

Continuing with its endeavour towards improving overall customer experience, Vodafone India invested over Rs 1000 crores in Mumbai circle over FY 2014-15 to strengthen its network by putting up over 950 new 3G sites and expand its retail footprint with the opening of 11 new Vodafone Global Design Stores.

Vodafone Mumbai has scrapped and thereby killed off 2G Unlimited Data, hiked 2G Data rates by 140-200% effectively (in comparison with June 2015 rates), got rid of 3GB 3G Unlimited Data Plan, conveniently introduced higher 4GB, 6GB ones with high(er) rates and is now seeking to sell the double data (which I couldn’t spot on Voda Mum) as means to show their ‘respect’ to data subscribers? Is Vodafone India out of its depth to think they will be loved by their users for this facade? Shame on Vodafone which till June 2015 had affordable 2G Data Unlimited Rates (now scrapped)… Read more »

wow !™ Great understanding . My friend also started using Rcom 3G from Last month when they hike 2G unlimited 199 plan . As it happen they will hike in next quarter again data pack

This is the reality. While we get sucked into the wonder world of smartphones, apps and lovely screens .. under the guise of delivering this blazing new age technology, service providers like Vodafone and the rest are hiking rates to make up for the costs incurred for the mentioned licensing fees and also for of the cost of net neutrality (which I skipped mentioning in the first message).
