1 lakh units of Yu Yuphoria to go on open sale from July 21

YU has announced that it will bring out 1 lakh units of its popular smartphone, Yu Yuphoria for an open sale on Amazon. The sale will commence on July 21 and will last till July 23rd.

Open sale means that there won't be any requirement to pre-register in order to purchase the device. This is going to be the first time when YU will be putting up the biggest lot on sale and it is also taking the "Make in India" a step further, the company revealed that these handsets have been assembled in India.




Yu Yuphoria open sale

To recap, the YU Yuphoria was unveiled in India in May for a price of Rs. 6,999. It comes with a 5-inch HD display, and is powered by a 1.2GHz 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor paired with 2GB of RAM. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop based on Cyanogen OS 12, and sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash along with a 5-megapixel front camera. It supports 4G LTE connectivity, 16GB of expandable internal storage on-board, and is backed by a 2230mAh battery. Moreover, the device recently received a Cyanogen OS update that has fixed proximity sensor and has enhanced camera and keyboard functionality.

Commenting on the latest development, Rahul Sharma, Founder Yu, said “Staying true to the same commitment of creating more for our community, we are proud to announce our first batch of ‘Made in India’ only YUPHORIA phones," he said.
