Xolo set to launch its online-only brand ‘Black’ to compete with Xiaomi and YU

To take on the likes of Xiaomi, YU, and other smartphone brands that are focussing on online retail channels, Xolo is set to launch its online-only sub-brand dubbed 'Black'. Funny thing, Xolo is already a sub-brand of Lava Mobiles, a Noida-based smartphone brand.

The company is planning to launch 5-6 smartphones this year, with its first product launch slated for a launch in sometime in June. The first smartphone under the brand 'Black' will feature dual camera sensors on the rear, and 4G LTE connectivity. For that matter, all the smartphones under the brand will be 4G LTE compatible, and will be priced between Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 20,000. The good thing is, Xolo will not follow the 'Flash Sales' model for its devices under this new sub-brand, unlike others.

After Motorola, Xiaomi, and OnePlus started focussing on the online sales retail channel to attract the youth audience in India, other brands followed soon. Micromax introduced its online-only sub-brand YU, and Lenovo, Huawei, and Alcatel OneTouch started focussing on the online retail channels, and launched devices exclusive to one or the other online stores.
