Oppo announces R7 and R7 Plus with Snapdragon 615 SoC and 3GB RAM

Oppo has unveiled two more smartphones in the R series, named as Oppo R7 and Oppo R7 Plus. The R7 features a 5-inch Full HD AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, and runs Android 4.4 KitKat with Oppo’s in-house Color OS 2.1 on top. Whereas, the R7 Plus comes with a 6-inch Full HD AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with Color OS 2.1 on top.

Oppo R7

Both the devices are powered by 1.5 GHz Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (MSM8939) processor paired with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 405 GPU. They are crafted in a full metal body and 2.5D Arc Edge screen. Interestingly, the China Unicom variant of the Oppo R7 comes powered with a 1.7 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6752 SoC, whereas it’s Oppo R7 Plus variant comes powered with a 1.7GHz MediaTek MT6795 Octa-Core SoC.

Oppo R7 PlusThe duo sports a 13-megapixel rear camera (R7 also has dual LED flash along with a finger print sensor for unlocking the device) and an 8-megapixel front camera. In terms of connectivity, both of the devices support Dual SIM (one slot can be used as nano SIM or microSD card slot) and 4G LTE. The R7 is backed by a 2,320 mAh battery with VOOC fast charging technology, whereas the R7 Plus is backed by a 4,100 mAh battery with VOOC fast charge.

The R7 and R7 Plus will be available in Gold and Silver colors and as of now they are limited to China, but the company will launch it globally in June. The R7 comes for a price of 2,499 CYN (US$ 403 / INR 25,680 approx.) and the R7 Plus comes for a price of 2,999 CYN (US$ 483 / INR 30,810 approx.)
