Samsung Galaxy Prime 4G, Galaxy J1 4G, and Core Prime 4G unveiled for India, starting at Rs. 9990

Samsung is expanding its 4G handsets market in India by launching three new Galaxy smartphones, Galaxy Core Prime 4G, Galaxy Grand Prime 4G, and Galaxy J1 4G.

All the aforementioned devices will be available in the market from the second week of March, starting at Rs. 9,990 onwards. Although Samsung has not yet revealed the price of devices, we assume that it will be disclosed around the launch time.

Now coming on to the specifications, The Samsung Galaxy Core Prime 4G, Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime 4G, and Samsung Galaxy J1 4G support Indian Bands supported TDD-LTE (2300) 4G connectivity. These devices already have their 3G variants in the Indian market. The Galaxy Core Prime 4G (in the image above), similar to its 3G variant, runs Android 4.4 KitKat and supports Dual SIM connectivity, a 4.5-inch WVGA with 480x800 pixels plane-to-line switching (PLS) TFT LCD display, a 1.2GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. The phone has 8GB of internal storage, further expandable up to 64GB via microSD card.

The Galaxy Core Prime 4G features a 5-megapixel Autofocus rear camera with LED flash, along with a 2-megapixel front camera. The phone is backed by a 2,000 mAh battery. In terms of connectivity, it includes 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, GLONASS, and NFC. It measures 131.3x68.4x8.8mm, with matte body and metal sides. It will be available in Charcoal Grey, White, and Silver colours.

The Galaxy Grand Prime 4G (in the image above) is a Dual SIM (Micro-SIM) device, which runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box and sports a 5-inch qHD (540x960 pixels) TFT display. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. It has 8GB of internal storage, expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. It supports 4G, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS, GLONASS, NFC, and 3G. It is backed by a 2,600 mAh battery, measures 144.8x72.1x8.6mm, and weighs 156 grams. It will be available in White and Grey colours.

Now, coming to the last device, Galaxy J1 4G, which is almost identical to its 3G-variant, supports Dual SIM (GSM+GSM) connectivity and runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. The phone comes with a 4.3-inch (480x800 pixels) WVGA TFT display and is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor, unlike the Samsung Galaxy J1, which has a dual-core processor. The Galaxy J1 4G has 768MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. The phone sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, along with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 1,850 mAh battery. It supports connectivity options such as 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, NFC, GLONASS, A-GPS, and Bluetooth options. The J1 measures 129x68.2x8.9mm and weighs 122 grams. It will be available in Blue, Black and White colors.
