Microsoft has understood that its low-cost Lumia smartphones are pretty popular among the masses, so it has started focusing on them rather than going in all guns blazing for the top-end segment. After launching the Lumia 435 for Rs 5,999, Microsoft has now launched the Lumia 532 for Rs 6,499. The low-cost Lumia is placed below the Lumia 535, and is meant to cater to the first-time smartphone users.

Lumia 532

It runs on Windows 8.1 on its 4.0-inch display, and is a dual-SIM smartphone, just like other entry-level Lumia smartphones (read as Lumia 520, Lumia 525 and Lumia 435). A quad-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 200 processor is joined in by 1GB RAM, which seems to be the new standard for Windows Phone devices.

Microsoft Lumia 532 Specifications

  • 4.0-inch display which has a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels
  • Windows Phone 8.1 operating system (with Lumia Denim update)
  • 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor and 1GB RAM
  • 8GB internal storage, expandable by 128GB
  • 5MP rear-facing primary camera (without flash) and a VGA front-facing camera
  • 3G, Dual-SIM, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, A-GPS, microUSB v2.0 port, and 3.5mm headphone jack
  • 1,560 mAh battery (talk time of up to 12 hours)
  • Colours: Black, White, Orange and Green

The Lumia 532, which competes with the Moto E, doesn't seem like a good device for its price. One can easily prefer the Lumia 638, which is available for Rs 6,999, as it offers a major upgrade over the Lumia 532 in terms of hardware specifications. The Lumia 532 will be available on Microsoft's e-store and all other e-commerce portals as well as offline retail stores by the end of this week.
