Media Tek chairman (MK Tsai) shared his commitment to make technology more accessible for people. He was encouraged by the great market potential that India holds in the field of technology and high tech services. He share with the Minister that Media Tek is keen on expanding its presence in India.

Just like Qualcomm and Apple, MediaTek designs its own chipsets, but as it doesn't own any fabrication facilities, it gets them manufactured from vendors like TSMC. MediaTek's SoC solutions are cheaper priced when compared to Qualcomm's, hence they are mostly used in low-cost smartphones.

Ravi Shankar Prasad shared the Indian government's vision about 'Digital India' as well as programs like 'Make In India' and Smart Cities. He also expressed the government's plans to create more IT hubs in small towns and opening BPO centres in rural areas, which would propel India's growth and bring prosperity in lesser-developed regions.
