After the whole Cyanogen-OnePlus fiasco, the Chinese smartphone brand had announced that it was developing its own ROM for the One, which will be based on Android 5.0 Lollipop. A few days back, OnePlus announced the name of its Android 5.0 Lollipop based ROM; OxygenOS. Now, the company's CEO Peter Lau has confirmed through social media (Weibo) that OxygenOS will be launched on February 12.

OxygenOS Launch Teaser

OnePlus had also published a teaser video of the OxygenOS, which hinted towards a UI closer to stock Android. Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus, had also announced a few months back that its own ROM will retain things like RAW image capture, lockscreen gestures, and other features, which are used in Cyanogen OS 11S for OnePlus One.

OnePlus One users in India will receive OxygenOS as Cyanogen has categorically specified that it won't be pushing out software updates to the device due to the software's exclusivity towards Yu branded devices from Micromax. However, it isn't clear if users will receive the complete ROM as an OTA update or if the users will have to visit the service centre to upgrade the software on their devices. On the other hand, international variants of OnePlus One will receive CM 12S, as announced by Cyanogen.
