Reliance Jio HR head quits; Mukesh names Sanjay Jog as new HR head

Steve Correa, Chief Human Resources Reliance Jio Infocomm has quit from his post a development that comes when company is gearing up for its pan-India 4G services launch in coming months. Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio Infocomm (RJIL) has plans to start 4G services across most of the telecom circles by March 2015

Correa has been replaced by Sanjay Jog, who came to Reliance Industries from Pantaloons for the human resources function of Reliance Retail, and has been given an expanded mandate to include Reliance Jio as well. It's not immediately clear if the wider role is an interim or a permanent measure, according to a latest report.

On January,2012, Mukesh Ambani has hired Sanjay Jog from rival Kishore Biyani's Pantaloon Retail (India), to head it human resources department. Jog, who drove Pantaloon Retail's overall human resources strategy, joined the Mukesh Ambani firm earlier this month.

Jog, who was HMV Saregama India's international COO before joining Pantaloon Retailer in 2005, is the latest in a string of executives to have quit the country's largest retailer over the last one year or so.

A post-graduate from the Pune University, Jog has spent more than two decades in services sectors in India as well as outside the country. He had also worked with DHL, Indian Hotels Group, Bharti Enterprises and RPG Enterprises.
