Gionee Elife S5.5L with Snapdragon 400 and 4G LTE is 5.75mm thin

As per GizChina, Gionee has made some changes to the Elife S5.5 which we reviewed recently. The new Gionee Elife S5.5L, as it is being referred, has a new processor and a larger battery. Gionee has now used the Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC instead of the octa-core MediaTek MT6592 SoC. Also, it now features a larger 2450 mAh battery, making the S5.5L slightly thicker at 5.75mm.

[Note: We've reached out to Gionee about the existence of Elife S5.5L and they confirmed that they are indeed working on 4G LTE model of the S5.5 but they did not reveal its model number.]

This change has supposedly happened due to supply shortage of MT6592 chipsets from MediaTek. So Gionee had to shift to Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset. But this means that it will use a moderate Adreno 305 GPU instead of a relatively powerful Mali-450MP4 GPU which was used in the MediaTek version. Would Adreno 305 GPU suffice to a screen with full HD resolution? I am afraid it will affect the graphics and image processing as well as gaming performance.

But on a positive side, this means that it would have a better chance of getting the Android 4.4 KitKat sooner than later.
