BSNL and Micromax have just entered into a partnership to offer bundled data and free calling across its devices. The duo will offer free data for data cards as well in addition too. Here's what they are offering:
- 2GB of free data per quarter for 12 months
- 500 minutes of voice calling per quarter for 12 months
The customer has to do a recharge of Rs 153 post buying a new Micromax device and inserting a BSNL SIM card in it. The offer will become applicable from 1/7/2014 and will go on for the next 6 months which is pretty much till the end of this year. The following are the model numbers of the applicable devices:
Smartphones
- X-88
- A-37
- A-37B
Tablets
- Micromax Funbook P-410-I
Data card
- MMX-377G
This comes across as a good move to push the data consumption in India which is still not as high as it should actually be. Seeing the fact that all these are entry level devices in their respective arenas, it is pretty evident that it is the low cost market that is being targeted.
