Nokia X, first Android based smartphone from Nokia which was launched last month has received a major price cut today. Originally, launched at a price of Rs 8,599, is now selling for Rs 7,027.
Running on a custom version of Android v4.1.2 JellyBean, the device has looks borrowed from the Lumia smartphones while the UI looks like a mix of Asha OS and Microsoft's Windows Phone operating system. The Nokia X is devoid of any Google services as it lacks GMS (Google Mobile Services) certification which comes with GMail, Google Play Store, Google Search, etc. It comes with Nokia's own mapping solution HERE Maps instead of Google Maps. There is also a Nokia Apps Store for installing apps and games from the place.
