2 Lakh Units of Realme 2 Sold During the First Sale, Turns Out to Be a Real Success

Realme is having a great time out there as its second smartphone, the Realme 2 sold in a large number during its first sale. The Realme 2, which went on for sale on September 3 is said to be sold in a large number of 200,000 or 2 Lakh. Realme announced this news via a press statement, further stating the stock went out of stock within five minutes of the sale commencement. The next sale of Realme 2 is scheduled for September 11, 2018, from 12 PM onwards. The Realme 2 comes as a successor to the Realme 1 which the Oppo sub-brand sold four lakh units in 45 days of launch. Surely, the Realme 2 turns out to be an excellent successor to the Realme 1, but Realme stated that the best- Realme 2 Pro is arriving later this month.

Realme 2 Specifications and Features

The Realme 2 is the company's first smartphone as a different entity in the Indian market. The phone was launched on August 28 and went on for sale a few days later. It has a 6.2-inch 19:9 notched display on the front with HD+ resolution. Internally, the Realme 2 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC, clubbed with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage. Realme has added a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion.

The phone also rocks dual cameras on the rear- a primary 13MP sensor is coupled with a secondary 5MP shooter for adding depth effect to the images. The device runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS out of the box, and it's armed with a 4230mAh battery.

Realme 2 Price in India, Next Sale Date

The Realme 2's next sale in on September 11, 2018, exclusively on Flipkart. The phone comes in two variants- one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, priced at Rs 8,990; And the other one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage priced at Rs 10,990. Both the variants can be picked up via Flipkart during the next sale.

The customers’ response to Realme2’s first sale is a testimony of our efforts steering in the right direction and we hope to break many more records in the future with the support of our customers.”

Realme Having a Great Time in the Market

According to Counterpoint Q2 2018 report, Realme ranked the 4th position in the online smartphone market with 4% market share within one month of its Realme 1 launch. Realme is a sub-brand of Oppo aimed at Xiaomi's Redmi range of smartphones. Taking on Redmi Y2, Oppo launched the Realme 2 with decent specs on board, but it doesn't come close to what Realme 1 offered.

Realme, as a brand is aimed at young Indian consumers present online. It's a sub-brand of Oppo, but Realme will now function as an independent unit in India and will work separately from the parent company. Although the two brands will continue to share the same manufacturing unit ensuring that customers have access to almost 500 service centres across India with guaranteed 90% of repair cases resolved within an hour.
