Realme, the sub-brand of Oppo today launched its second smartphone, namely, the Realme 2. While the name of the smartphone sounds like an upgrade, the hardware doesn’t justify the same. The Realme 2 is a downgrade to the Realme 1, but it comes with some noteworthy upgrades over its predecessor. The Realme 2 has a Snapdragon 450 chipset include, which doesn’t come close to the Realme 1’s MediaTek Helio P60 chipset. But Realme has bumped the battery capacity to 4230mAh battery, nearly 1000mAh increase. It has also added a notched display on the front, dual cameras on the rear and more importantly, the phone now comes with a fingerprint scanner on the rear side.

Realme 2 Specifications and Features
The Realme 2 has a 6.2-inch on the front, and this time around, the resolution has been downgraded to 720p. The Realme 1, for the unaware, featured a 1080p display. The Realme 2 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset, clubbed with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage. There’s a microSD card slot as well for storage expansion. The Snapdragon 450 is an entry-level chipset seen on devices such as the Xiaomi Redmi 5, but it doesn’t match the performance offered by MediaTek Helio P60.
The Realme 2 rocks two cameras on the rear side- a 13MP primary shooter paired with a 2MP depth sensor. Up front, the phone still has an 8MP shooter for selfies and video calls. The biggest upgrade on the Realme 2 is the battery, which is now a 4230mAh unit. It boots Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS out of the box. The phone has support for Dual 4G and other connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and Micro USB port.
