    Sanjay ji, aaj mere father apna Airtel number ko PORT IN ke liye BSNL CSC gaye the, mere father k naam se ek landline connection bhi hai is liye unhone “Pari Jodi” ke liye bhi request kiya par CSC waalo ne kaha ki Pari Jodi ka offer 5th Nov 2010 se 90 days ke liye hai jo ki 3rd Feb 2011 ko finish ho jaayega. Aapke number ko port hone mai 5-7 working days lagenge so Aapko Pyari Jodi ka benefit nahi mil paayega :(

    MTNL Mumbai really interested to reduce the call charges in BSNL Mh Goa circle, only because of BSNL Corporate office & MH MSC condition(overaged) BSNL not agree to reduce the call charges, to avoid overload on MSC system, FYI Please MTNL Mumbai doing follow ups since last 3 years to remove burden on our esteemed subscribers. Finally BSNL agreed only for Free Incoming calls in Mh circle.
    Let’s hope BSNL corp office will approve the request of MTNL Mumbai soon. It’s sure till March end MTNL Mumbai & Delhi will be remove roaming charges for entire country. If their is no new scam from telecom MP.

    its precisely this painstakingly slow decision making in PSU that erode them of a large subscriber base as well as public goodwill. in this era of hyper competitive telecom sector (even before MNP-days), how on this earth can one afford to take three years to take a positive decision. For BSNL its no big deal, but MTNL with its limited reach just cannot afford such lags.
    If indeed there exist problems with BSNL-MH MSC, then why does MTNL Mumbai allow BSNL users on roaming to use its network to call other operators at 1p/sec or 49p/min???. any cooperation should always be on reciprocative basis .
    i sincerely request MTNL authorities to remove roaming charges at the earliest and not wait till March 2011 to do the same
    @PD @Abhijit thanx guysfor constantly hammering this issue on TT!lets hope your efforts bear fruits at the earliest!

    Actually there are more than 60% people who wants Maharashtra roaming free as there is daily traveling between Mumbai- Pune, Mumbai- Nashik, also people staying in suburbs like Vasai- Virar & Dahanu, Bhiwandi, Ulhasnagar, Ambernath, Badlapur, Karjat- Khopoli area and also people living in Mumbai but having natives in Konkan, Marathwada, Vidharbha region so they also wants roaming free but we few guys only raised this issue on TT but others don’t know where to go so they take just another operator Sim card while they are going to their native places in Maharashtra circle to avoid roaming charges burden… But MTNL not bothered at all that they are hurting more than 60% people by burdening roaming charges on them in same state of Maharashtra ….

    Who is the 1st operator to make Mh Goa circle roam free for incoming calls? Who never charged rental for national roaming? Who is the 1st 3G service provider in India? Ans is only one operator i.e. MTNL. Lets wait till March end or 1st week of April MTNL going to offer roam free India at your default call rates plan for his all esteemed subscribers.

    Good info. This kind of discrimination will ultimately kindle regionlistic politics too, especially carving out Mumbai into an individual circle. Unlike Delhi which is an independent state, Mumbai is an integral part of Maharashtra and also its capital (city). Therefore MTNL should immediately do away this kind of injustice and treat all those living in Maharashtra and in Mumbai at par!. This is an isolated case. Addressing this issue earlier, the better !

    @PD
    very well said.. MTNL main authority who makes decision from delhi is puporsely biasing Mumbai Mtnl circle as they either think Mumbai is richer city so can afford Rs.1.50/min rate from roaming or they are purposely trying to keep Mumbai separate from Maharashtra so by taking roaming charges they trying to prove that we from delhi can do whatever we want.. And always giving reason that we are taking surcharge for roaming as per TRAI rule.. But due to competition LOOP was also force to reduce the roaming charges even their network is not present in Pan India until yet.

    I think only we two post frequently on this aspect! May be the rest have already decided call it a day ? Also, in this context, it seems that @MTNL BSNL too is helpless!
    Like you, I, too, have ported one MTNL number with a vengeance ! And 6 to follow after wait and watch. As of now I plan to keep ONLY one, that too as a monument !!

    @PD
    we both and also mumBHAI, Ajay on TT post for reducing roaming rates by MTNL Mumbai.. But MTNL Mumbai is not listening at all..

    Even MTNL Delhi has lowering roaming rates option see the link which is displayed on TT also http://telecomtalk.info/mtnl-delhi-launches-trump-rc53-and-new-sms-pack/48426/
    then why only MTNL Mumbai can’t introduce Roaming plan??

    PD :
    I think the PSUs BSML and MTNL will never come to reason ! Today I got an sms -
    “While roaming on BSNL (Mahrashtra and Goa)Network, MTNL customers can enjoy calls at local rate to BSNL (BSNL Mahrashtra & Goa) & MTNL Mumbai network”
    It is now clear that MTNL customer, if just cross their boundary (roam) will have to pay Rs.1.50/min for a call made to any other operators in Mahrashtra & Goa and Mumbai too !! A clear-cut day-dreaming ! I think MTNL wants to wash out its profits. Already MTNL subscribers have started porting out ! BSNL on the contrary have better scope with its Rs.69/-STV (1p sec.) but unfortunately no MTNL subscribers can ever be able to port in into BSNL !! MTNL is not bothered about the umpteen grievances aired at various arena including TT ! Well keep going MTNL because choice is yours ! MNP statistics will explain in due course !

    very true PD..Now MNP heat has woke up LOOP MOBILE too. Loop mobile don’t have their own network on pan India circle until yet. Loop has roaming tie up with biggies like idea, airtel, vodafone then also they have come up with reduce roaming rates plan for benefits to their customer. So loop is giving lower roaming rates using other network while roaming so it is good offer. So with loop we can get access with all 3 biggies while roaming so we will never be out of coverage.

    But MTNL Mumbai is still sleeping!!! MTNL Mumbai is only single operator remaining who don’t have any roaming rate reducing plans , still MTNL is taking Rs.1.50/min from roaming. So MTNL Mumbai its time to wake up now otherwise using MNP WEAPON many will port out to enjoy less roaming charges. I have already ported out my 1 number out of 3 MTNL number for roaming problem reason…If within next 1 month MTNL don’t reduce there roaming rates then surely, I will port out other 2 MTNL number also….

    You are right MTNL is truly positive on each & every complaint, they called us on daily basis to get more complaints of UMTS & GSM, they are always ready to work, to resolve every MTNL subscribers complaint, they are really very active, if not possible then they convey the subscriber. They are always ready to interact directly to subscriber, also in some of the cases they request subscribers to suggest location for new cellsite so tht they can get strong network coverage in that particular area. Very aggressive team of MTNL. Hats off. Everyone is positve from RF & Maintenance team. Just opt & see the thrilling experience with MTNL 3G & GSM network.

BSNL is charging Rs. 2 per sms for the query of Bill/Unbill usage thru sms. There are no USSD service for the same 2. We have to walk CCN for any Activation/Deactivation or Change of plan. No support from Customer care for the same

    BSNL is creating only farce one after another.
    First it forced to take one extra sim to activate pyari jodi offer. All landline telephone owners would be happy if BSNL had given them a chace to opt for their selected near or dear one’s mobile number for that offer. ( as it is giving option to all mobile subscribers to select numbers as per their choice to opt for reduced call charges).
    Now again it is telling that all porting customers will get free to talk with their landline number. Who will use 3 BSNL Sim at a time?!!!
    It is only a tactis to increase its subscriber base.

    Sanjay Bafnaji and friends,
    When I applied for MNP from Reliance CDMA to BSNL, BSNL accepted all the forms and issued blank sim card. But after one day I got sms on my porting number that Your porting request is rejected by your service provider (i.e. reliance) due to legal reasons… I could not understand what are the legal reasons for rejecting the request… I have prepaid number and that is working. I have balance in my reliance number… or Reliance is trying to torture the porting out customers ??? Else Why should reliance reject the MNP request ? Can anyone advice, what should I do now???

    PD :Why can’t one make unlimited call from the SAME LANDLINE to the PYARI JODI CELL as no one else will take the call? Really surprising! If allowed, network congestion can be avoided. I mean, first make a miss-call from landline to pyari jodi and expect return free call? I think the THINK-TANK is short of ideas?

    Agree with you PD. BSNL officials should rethink about it.

    Free mein paaneke liye kuch pay bhi karna padhta hai, if you call to landline number instead of missed call how much you will be charge? hardly 10paise if you are in pay per second plan. Think positively you are using landline & mobile not Policewalon ka walky talky kitna bhi baat karo unlimited free from one channel?

  • Ahamed January 22, 2011 10:44 pm

    An attractive offer indeed! Definitely it would click and BSNL will be able to enroll millions of mobile as well as land line connections in this account. Kerala circle had implemented the scheme offering new SIMs to landline as well as WLL subscribers in August 2010. That has not resulted in any congestion problem here in Kerala. Please don’t worry!

    Is MNP really helping us(Especially those using Sarkari)???
    I have to ask this question becoz of the experience I had in an MTNL office. I have 2 Dolphin postpaid connections. I had paid a deposit of Rs. 1000 for both of them. Now I wanna switchover to Idea. When I went to the MTNL office today to clear my bills for the switchover, they told me that they can’t give me back the deposit. They told me to go to their Bandra Kurla Complex centre instead to sort out the matter. Frankly, I don’t have the patience & the time to go there. Is there anyway I can get the deposit back & switchover to Idea. Can Idea help me out????

    I don’t think Idea can help you out coz you first need full clearance from your current operator i.e. MTNL. But still, contact Idea to see if they can give you some better tips.
