Last week, OnePlus confirmed the new OxygenOS features from OnePlus 7 series would be added to older OnePlus smartphones like the OnePlus 6T, OnePlus 6, OnePlus 5T and OnePlus 5. As promised, the company is rolling out new OxygenOS beta update to its 2018 smartphones- the OnePlus 6 and the OnePlus 6T. The OxygenOS Open Beta 11 for OnePlus 6T and the OxygenOS Open Beta 19 update for the OnePlus 6 brings screen recorder and Zen Mode features from the OnePlus 7 series. Alongside these two features, the company has fixed several bugs and the OTA update rollout has already commenced. For those who’re interested in installing the OxygenOS Beta version for the first time, they can download the respective files from OnePlus Forums and install it manually.

OnePlus 6, 6T Gets Zen Mode and Screen Recorder Features
For the unaware, OnePlus introduced a lot of new OxygenOS features with the OnePlus 7 series. Now two of the important features are making it to the OnePlus 6 and 6T smartphones. Firstly, OnePlus has added the Screen Recorder feature which allows users to record their screen along with phone’s internal audio. For example, this feature comes in extremely handy for gamers who want to record their gameplay on PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty, and post it on YouTube. As noted, the screen recorder also records internal gameplay audio which comes as a bonus feature to the gamers.
Next, the Chinese company has added the Zen Mode functionality, which basically allows users to stay away from their mobile phone for 20 minutes. The Zen Mode can be activated from the quick tiles in notification drawer; When enabled, you’ll not be able to access your OnePlus phone for 20 minutes. I have found this feature very useful on the OnePlus 7 Pro. Other features like screenshot editor, Fnatic mode will be added to the Beta version very soon, as confirmed by OnePlus.
