Of course, as you would expect, a lot of phones which are being updated to Android 10 include the ones which come with the Android One certification. These stock Android devices with Android One certification get timely security updates and are also the ones to receive the major Android updates quicker than most other devices. Now, one of the most popular Android One device series from one of the most popular manufacturers is the Mi A series. Xiaomi’s Mi A2 and the Mi A3 have been very praiseworthy phones in the past and these two come with the Android One certification. Since the past few weeks, there has been a lot of chatter coming from the Mi A3 users who are urging Xiaomi to release the Android 10 update for the device. However, in a surprising move, Xiaomi has launched the Android 10 update for the Mi A2 users.

Xiaomi Mi A2 Android 10 Update Details

This new rollout of Android 10 for Mi A2 users surely points out that the Android 10 update for the Mi A3 users might not be that far. The Android 10 update for the Mi A3 might be just around the corner and only a few days away. Like every time, as it the case with every update, this one is also being pushed to the Mi A2 users in a phased manner over the air. As for the size of the update, the users of Mi A2 will find that the update is 1.3GB in size and it accompanies all the notable features of Android 10 which include Smart Replies, Dark Mode, Family Link parental controls under Digital Wellbeing and the new gesture-based navigation system. As for security, the update also brings the December 2019 Android Security patch along with it. Further, there is also a new camera icon which the users will find after updating to the Android 10.

Now it is worth noting that although the Mi A2 has been updated to Android 10, there is a high chance that Xiaomi has rushed this update since the users have reported a few bugs. As per the users who have updated their Mi A2 device, there are a few UI glitches, and the VoWi-Fi feature is missing on the device which is one of the most popular and in-demand features for the users right now. Some users also reported that Google Services also stopped working for a while on the device after the update. The camera app on the Xiaomi Mi A2 is also still buggy, and there is still no support for the camera2api,

Last Major Update for Mi A2

Lastly, the most important thing to note is that back in 2018, the Mi A2 had debuted with Android Oreo. In the same year, the device was updated to Android 9 Pie. But, now the Android 10 update for the Mi A2 is also here. Since the Android One devices receive two major Android updates from their release, it is likely that this is the last major update for the Mi A2.

mi wants to kill the Android one series by giving buggy updates

Don’t buy these devices. Utter nonsense. Except for Mi A1, Xiaomi provided buggy updates to rest of the two. Even with Mi A1 during Oreo update, it was mess for three to four times. These days software is issue on every single phone out there except pixel. One Plus and Asus also had bugs after updates. Some bugs gets removed, some bugs gets inserted into it. So start living with it. Less I talk About Nokia devices, more it is better. Except for Nokia 6.1/7 Plus/7, everything else had buggy updates.
