Today noon, OnePlus 7, the second in the ladder of the OnePlus series for 2019 went live for sale. After the OnePlus 7 Pro, the OnePlus 7 was the most talked about phone, and with a price tag of Rs 32,999 for the base 6GB RAM and 128GB variant, it comes as one of the best performing phones in the market right now, owing to the Snapdragon 855 SoC. Just like it was the case for OnePlus 7 Pro, the Chinese smartphone maker had released an update for the phone shortly after it was in consumers' hands. Similarly, OnePlus has also released an update for the OnePlus 7. Read ahead to know more about what the OnePlus 7's latest update packages.

OnePlus 7 OxygenOS 9.5.4.GM57AA Update Details

This new update from OnePlus for the OnePlus 7 comes in a 223MB package, and it brings on board the OxygenOS 9.5.4.GM57AA. This update for the OnePlus 7 has been claimed to improve the camera performance of the smartphone, deliver tweaks for smooth scrolling, and an optimised algorithm for in-display fingerprint unlock sensor, apart from "general bug fixes and improvements". Some of the most talked about features of the OnePlus 7 Pro include the Fnatic Gaming mode, and with this update, OnePlus has announced that it will be available on the OnePlus 7 as well. Besides this, the OnePlus 7 will also be getting a DC Dimming feature.

Camera Improvements, DC Dimming and Fnatic Mode

On testing the camera post the update installation, there is very minimal difference in the images, and it is hard to pinpoint what exactly OnePlus has improved in the camera department. However, the DC Dimming and the Fnatic mode will be additions which the users of OnePlus 7 are likely to appreciate. Another interesting thing to note is that the OnePlus 7 gets the April 2019 Android Security Patch with this update.

It is worth noting that the DC Dimming feature is something that the OnePlus 7 Pro also did not have before this, and the flagship phone also received it shortly before the OnePlus 7. The DC Dimming feature uses DC voltage to control the light output of the LED. Currently, smartphones use Pulse Width Modulation which causes the screen to flicker at low brightness levels. Although the DC Dimming feature is currently in Beta, you can turn it on by going to Settings > Utilities > OnePlus Laboratory > DC Dimming.

The Fnatic Mode is yet another new feature for the OnePlus 7, and this feature takes the gaming mode on the phone one step further. The Fnatic mode restricts the notifications on the phone and dedicates the resources of the device for no-interruption and smooth gaming experience. The mode also disabled the secondary SIM while you're gaming to reduce interference. To enable the Fnatic mode on your OnePlus 7 you can go to  Settings > Utilities > Gaming Mode> Fnatic Mode. Also, if you would like to check for updates on the OnePlus 7 manually then you can go to Settings > System > System Updates.
