OnePlus 5T OxygenOS 4.7.2 Update Brings Improvements to Face Unlock, 4K Video Stabilization and More

OnePlus 5T may have become the fastest selling smartphone, but it still needs some improvements said, CEO Carl Pei. The first of these updates have already arrived, just days after its formal launch. The OnePlus 5T (first impressions) is now receiving its first major update. The 107MB update now brings the Android Nougat based software up to OxygenOS 4.7.2. The over-the-air(OTA) update optimises fingerprint and Face Unlock features of the device.

As per the official changelog reported on OnePlus forums, there is also improved accuracy for on-screen gestures. In addition, the update brings better Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) during 4K video recording. The 5T will also be secured against the infamous KRACK vulnerability and other bugs following the update.

In order to start the OxygenOS 4.7.2 update on your OnePlus 5T, start with selecting Settings and going to System updates. It is advised to backup your data before beginning the update process.

OnePlus 5T Camera Update Coming Soon
OnePlus is also reportedly working to improve the dual camera setup of the new flagship. The device will receive improvements in low light photography and focus more on image details. There will further improvements in selfie department and as well “Beautification Mode” feature of the device.

The CEO said that OnePlus would start private testing these improvements with a select group of users next week. The final update will most likely roll out to users in early December.

OnePlus 5T is now available on Amazon India for the same price is the same as the original OnePlus 5. The 5T is priced at Rs 32,999 for the 6GB RAM and 64GB version, while the larger 8GB RAM and 128GB variant will cost Rs 37,999. The upgraded device features 6-inch Full HD+ resolution with an edge-to-edge bezel-less display. The fingerprint scanner has been placed on the rear while Face Unlock feature allows access to the device.
