At the ongoing IFA 2019 tech show in Berlin, Lenovo-owned Motorola has officially announced the Motorola One Zoom smartphone with quad cameras and Snapdragon 675 chipset. The Motorola One Zoom is the company's first smartphone with quad rear cameras which also has a telephoto lens with 3X Optical Zoom capabilities. Also, the phone may reach the Indian market as well considering all the Motorola One phones launched till date made into the Asian sub-continent. For now, the One Zoom will be available in the United States and European markets. Motorola has also added a 4000mAh battery inside that charges at 15W. The primary camera on the back also has support for OIS, which is a rarity on a mid-range smartphone. The Motorola One Zoom is probably aimed at the camera enthusiasts out there.
Motorola One Zoom: Specifications and Features
When it comes to hardware specifications, Motorola One Zoom is strictly a mid-range handset. The phone rocks a 6.4-inch Full HD OLED Max Vision display with a resolution of 1080x2340 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio. The back of the smartphone is a glass panel protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 technology. Under the hood, the One Zoom has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset, clubbed with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone also has a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 128GB.
The USP of the smartphone is the quad-camera setup on the back. Motorola has added a primary 48MP sensor (probably the Samsung GM2) with f/1.7 aperture and Optical Image Stabilisation support. There's a 16MP wide-angle sensor with 117-degrees field-of-view, an 8MP telephoto lens with 3X optical zoom and 10X hybrid zoom, and lastly, there's a 5MP depth sensor for capturing the background information. On the front, the One Zoom has a 25MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture.
As for the connectivity options, the phone has Dual 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and USB Type-C port. The phone measures 8.8mm thick and weighs 190 grams. Since the phone sports an OLED display, Motorola has added an in-display fingerprint scanner as well. Lastly, there's a 4000mAh battery on the Motorola One Zoom with 15W charging support.
Motorola One Zoom: Pricing and Availability
As mentioned above, the Motorola One Zoom will be available in some markets starting today. Motorola will sell the One Zoom at EUR 429 (approx. Rs 34,500) in Europe, and in the United States, the phone can be purchased for $449 (approx. Rs 32,500). The phone will be available in three colour options- Brushed Bronze, Cosmic Purple, and Electric Grey.
