Motorola One Power Android 10 Update Rollout Begins in India

Follow Us

Motorola One Power starts getting the Android 10 update in India, the company has officially confirmed. Launched back in August 2018, the Motorola One Power arrived with Android 8.1 Oreo on board. At the end of 2018, the One Power received its first major update in the form of Android 9 Pie. And now, at the end of 2019, Motorola is seeding the Android 10 update to the handset. Being an Android One smartphone, the One Power is supposed to get timely software updates and the Lenovo-owned company has done a great job. Notably, this could be the One Power's last Android iterative upgrade as it will not get any Android 11 update in 2020. Other Motorola smartphones like the Motorola One Vision, One Action and so on are expected to get the same Android 10 update in the coming weeks.

Motorola One Power Android 10 Update: What's New?

Motorola confirmed that the Android 10 update to the One Power was released on December 10, 2019. Since it's a staged rollout, the entire update process will happen till January 10, 2020, meaning there are very slim chances of your phone getting the update today. The update also adds December 2019 security patches to the Motorola One Power.

The Motorola One Power is an Android One smartphone and the company has done a tremendous job in pushing the Android 10 update by the end of 2019 itself. Xiaomi's Mi A2 and the Mi A3 are also Android One smartphones, but the company is yet to release Android 10 update to both the phones.

Because the Motorola One Power is an Android One phone, the Android 10 update brings all the new features like Dark Theme, enhanced location and privacy tools, smart reply functionality for all the apps, new gestural navigation and so on. It will be interesting to see whether Motorola has added any new features to the One Power with Android 10 update or not.

Motorola Yet to Reveal Android 10 Update Roadmap

In other news, Motorola is yet to reveal its Android 10 update roadmap. At the moment, the only Motorola smartphone to get the Android 10 update is Motorola One Power and it could soon be followed by other Motorola phones like Motorola One Vision, Motorola One Action and the Motorola One Macro. The Motorola One series of phones come with Android One branding and they boot stock Android out of the box.

While the Motorola One Power is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset, it's not the case with the other One series phones. Both the One Vision and One Action are powered by Samsung's Exynos chipsets, whereas the One Macro has MediaTek Helio P70 SoC underneath. The One Macro could be last in the list to get Android 10 update, but we're expecting the company to push Android 10 update to Motorola One Vision and One Action smartphones in the first quarter of 2020.

Motorola will likely release the same update to other phones like the Moto G7 Plus, Moto G8 Plus, Moto G7, Moto G7 Power and so on, but there's no official confirmation from the brand right now.

The company is aggressively expanding the One lineup with the recent additions being the Motorola One Zoom and the Motorola One Hyper. The One Hyper arrived with Android 10 out of the box which is a good thing to see. Future Motorola phones will also come out with Android 10 along with a promise of two major Android iterative upgrades.
