Android 9 Pie is coming to three Asus phones including Zenfone Max Pro M1, Zenfone Max Pro M2, and Zenfone Max M2. Asus has officially announced that Pie will come to Zenfone Max Pro M1, Zenfone Max Pro M2, and Zenfone Max M2 by April 15, 2019. To recall, Asus had previously promised to bring Android 9 Pie's sweetness to Zenfone Max Pro M1, Zenfone Max Pro M2, and Zenfone Max M2 beginning of this year. At the time of announcing the new timeline for Android 9 Pie rollout, Asus apologised to the consumers for the delayed software rollout.

Asus had previously promised to bring Android 9 Pie to Zenfone Max Pro M1, Zenfone Max Pro M2, and Zenfone Max M2 by February this year, but sadly that didn't happen. Both the Zenfone Max Pro M1 and Zenfone Max Pro M2 got the Android 9 Pie beta updates very recently. All the three Asus phones including Zenfone Max Pro M1, Zenfone Max Pro M2, and Zenfone Max M2 will get the Android 9 Pie over-the-air (OTA) update by April 15 this year.

Android 9 Pie Coming to Asus Phones: What to Expect?

Announcing the timeline of the software rollout, Dinesh Sharma, Head of Mobile Business, Asus India said, "We shall be releasing the Android Pie update latest by April 15, 2019, for [the Zenfone] Max Pro M1, [Zenfone] Max Pro M2, and [the Zenfone] Max M2." Sharma further added, "The extra time taken post the previously declared date of release is to sincerely make the Android Pie update deliver a much better experience. We assure you that our teams are working around the clock to get the Android Pie across at the earliest possible, and I'm sure the wait will be worthwhile."

All the three Zenfone Max Pro M1, Zenfone Max Pro M2, and Zenfone Max M2 were launched in India last year and all of them received a great response in the country. The Zenfone Max Pro M1 was launched beginning last year which was succeeded by Zenfone Max Pro M2 later in the year. The Zenfone Max Pro M2 goes against the Redmi Note 7 in India right now and stands pretty well in front of the Xiaomi phone.

As far as the specs are concerned, the Zenfone Max Pro M2 comes packed with a 6.26-inch display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. On the hardware front, the phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor paired with up to 6GB RAM and 64GB of storage. One of the key highlights of the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 is its battery. The phone includes a big 5000mAh battery setup. Meanwhile, rumours and leaks about the Max Pro M2 aka Max Pro M3 have started making rounds on the internet which will most likely launch with Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box.
