iOS 18 has finally rolled out for the iPhones globally. I have been using it for the last 12 hours (at the time of writing this), and have fairly got an idea of what it is all about. The best of iOS 18 is not just in the Apple Intelligence, but in the other additional features that Apple has rolled out to make iPhones a more convenient experience for users. Apple's iOS 18 marks the first time users can customise the home screen and also get the support of many local regional languages within India. Let me share some first impressions of the iOS 18.

Customisation is the Highlight
The customisation features with iOS 18 are amazing. Many users have liked it, but many haven't. The thing is, people who want to keep the standard look can keep it, and those who want to change can change the entire look. The good thing is that now the choice lies with the users.
The Control Center is also a lot more fun with the iOS 18. There is also a dynamic flashlight available now. One great thing is the ability to lock and hide apps with Face ID. Those who want to lock and hide their apps don't have to rely on third-party applications anymore. This is a great feature.

The Photos app has got a redesign. Searching for photos has become a very simple task now. Along with this, there are RCS chat services available, and there is also an option for sending messages later. Messages are also now categorised intelligently for you. Safari has seen major improvements too. There is now a new redesigned Reader page, and you can also remove any or all the distracting elements from the web page by selecting it manually.
The passwords app is there, which is a great addition too. You can track all your passwords, keychains, and more inside this app. While I haven't gamed yet, the new gaming mode will minimise background activity to sustain consistently high frame rates for hours of continous gameplay. For the first time, India fonts and numerals have been added.
The Notes app can now have audio recordings transcribed for you in real time. There is also a Multilingual keyboard which will support different languages typing. The calculator app is much better now. You can get history, access scientific calculator, and also do Math Notes.
And of course, the ability to pause video in between recording is also great. It is finally here. Look, with Apple Intelligence in store for the future, I believe that the iOS 18 will be one of the pivotal changes in the way users interact with an iPhone. So far, the iOS 18 feels great.
What I don't like is the lock screen notifications. While the stacks are there, the font change is not very good and is pretty hard to read.
