airtelmobileofficeTelecomTalk has learned that Airtel is on its move to stop unlimited mobile office service on pan India bases, and mobile office service will be rejuvenated into rental free GPRS service for a price tag of 0.30P for 50kb subscribers can activate airtel zero rental gprs service by dialing *567# or by sending a text message to 56789 as AGPRS.

Five years back Airtel was offering free unlimited GPRS named as NET ON PHONE (NOP) it was said that airtel allowed free GPRS only to make awareness of GPRS among the subscribers and to try it; the idea was to get more customers for GPRS service and later to back off the service.

The NOP service from airtel proved to be a great hit among common man later when the gprs service was grown as expected they stopped the free NOP service and started selling Airtel Mobile office service.

Although Airtel started charging its unlimited mobile office service on daily, weekly and monthly bases looking into common mans point of view but still it did not lose the GPRS customers rather kept growing this was because airtel allowed unlimited bandwidth plan for all the packages. It was quite popular among the customers because other competitor like Vodafone was charging their customers with pay per internet usage and had no unlimited plan and airtel was standing alone to offer unlimited internet for cheap prices without any fixed rent.Airtel has already started to cap their unlimited broadband usage under fair usage policy where customer’s internet speed will be reduced drastically after reaching certain bandwidth for the month.

Existing GPRS users please NOTE

Though the GPRS pack comes with zero rental it may be activated by default on all the SIM which is using GPRS service so make sure that application like messenger, Google Map Email application automatically attempt to make GPRS connection so make sure to change the appropriate settings or be ready to pay additional data usage charges.
