These days, whenever there is a new Xiaomi event making the headlines in India or internationally, the consumers do not only look towards the launch of smartphones. But, owing to Xiaomi’s popularity in the TV segment, the customers also look forward to the launch of the latest TVs from Xiaomi as well. There are no two thoughts about how popular the Mi TV 4 series and its various variants have been. However, now Xiaomi has launched the Mi TV 5 which is the fifth stalwart in the Xiaomi TV series. In a grand launch event held in Beijing, China today Xiaomi has introduced the Mi TV 5 series of smart TVs and Mi TV 5 Pro series of smart TV as well. These TVs come in various sizes and in the launch, Xiaomi introduced the - Mi TV 5 75-inch, Mi TV 5 65-inch and Mi TV 5 55-inch variants in China, in addition to the Mi TV 5 Pro 75-inch, Mi TV 5 Pro 65-inch and Mi TV 5 Pro 55-inch. Xiaomi Targets the Premium Segment With Mi TV 5 Pro

Kicking off things with a discussion of the Mi TV 5 Pro. It is worth noting that with the launch of the Mi TV 5 series, and especially the Pro version of the same, Xiaomi is targeting the premium segment with these TVs and hence the sizes which are available for buy starting with the 55-inch variant and include the 65-inch and 75-inch variant. Also, the 75-inch option of the Mi TV 5 Pro is also the most expensive variant of television that Xiaomi has launched till date. It is also worth noting that Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi has also launched a 70-inch TV which currently has not made its way to India, but is expected to do so.

As for the features of the Xiaomi Mi TV 5 Pro, these TVs come with Quantum Dot display, HDR 10+, and 8K video support. Another department where the Mi TV 5 Pro has made a big leap includes its design. The Mi TV 5 Pro comes with very slim bezels which are trimmed to half the width of what we have seen on the previous generation. Inside the rear panel, the Mi TV 5 Pro packs the 4GB DDR4, 64GB eMMC and MEMC support too. It is also worth noting that Xiaomi has been using the Patchwall UI for its TVs for a long time now, and these TVs also continue the legacy of the previous TVs and come with the Patchwall UI. On the audio front, the Mi TV 5 Pro comes with Dolby Atmos and DTS support as well.

Besides the Mi TV 5 Pro, Xiaomi has also introduced the Mi TV 5 standard variant as well. Similar to the Pro series, the Mi TV 5 also comes in the same sizes which include the 55-inch, 65-inch and the 75-inch variant. The major difference between the Mi TV 5 Pro and the Mi TV 5 is that the latter does not come with the Quantum Dot display. However, the Mi TV 5 does come with Patchwall UI and also offers Dolby Atmos and DTS Support.

Xiaomi Mi TV 5 and Mi TV 5 Pro Pricing

As for the pricing, Xiaomi has announced that the Mi TV 5 55-inch will retail for 2999 yuan, the 65-inch Mi TV 5 will retail for 3999 yuan and the 75-inch Mi TV 5 will be available for 7999 yuan. The Mi TV 5 Pro, coming with the ‘Pro’ moniker comes with a slightly higher price tag of 3699 yuan for the 55-inch variant while the Mi TV 5 Pro 65-inch and Mi Tv 5 Pro 75-inch is priced at 4999 yuan and 9999 yuan respectively.
