The Sunil Bharti Mittal led telecom operator Bharti Airtel has a massive chip on its shoulder as the heat in the telecom sector is beginning to shift directions. The telco which was once the ruler of the industry has slipped a few spots because of the merger of Vodafone Idea, and also, the company’s financials have been dented with the data tariff war which was started by the entry of Reliance Jio in the industry in 2016. Now with the motive to set itself apart yet again in the industry, Bharti Airtel has made a massive change to its postpaid plans. The telco has discontinued a handful of its postpaid plans and replaced them with new ones. Without further ado, let’s get right on and check what Airtel has to offer for the postpaid subscribers.
Airtel Rs 499 and Rs 749 Postpaid Plans
The first thing to note is that the Airtel has set a new baseline for the postpaid plans. While previously, the cheapest postpaid plan in Airtel’s portfolio was the Rs 399 plan, now the Airtel postpaid portfolio starts at Rs 499. This plan offers 75GB of 3G/4G data with data rollover option alongside unlimited local and STD calling. The plan also offers 100 SMS per day. As part of new Airtel Thanks benefits, the telco is offering three months of Netflix subscription, one year of Amazon Prime subscription, ZEE5 subscription, Airtel TV and handset protection as well.
Now before we move on to other postpaid plans, it is crucial to note that Airtel has removed the Rs 649, Rs 1,199 and Rs 2,999 postpaid plans as well. Instead of these plans, the telecom operator is retailing Rs 749 postpaid plan with data add-on which offers 125GB of data per month with data rollover facility, unlimited local and STD calling and 100 SMS per day. What’s interesting to note is that the Rs 749 rental is for two regular connections and one add-on connection which is something that sets apart Airtel from other operators.
Airtel Rs 999 and Rs 1,599 Postpaid Plan
Next plan in Airtel’s postpaid portfolio is the Rs 999 postpaid plan for a total of 5 connections including 4 regular connections and one data add-on. The plan offers a total of 150GB data with unlimited local and STD calling. The Airtel Thanks benefit in this plan includes 3 months of Netflix subscription, one year Amazon Prime subscription, ZEE5 subscription, Airtel TV and Handset Protection.
The last and the most premium plan in Airtel’s postpaid portfolio is the Rs 1,599 plan which offers three connections with two regular SIMs. As per the official website, the plan provides unlimited data benefit and also unlimited local and STD calls. Also, the plan bundles 200 ISD minutes and 10% discount on International Roaming packs. The benefits under Airtel Thanks include three months of Netflix subscription, one year of Amazon Prime, ZEE5 subscription, Airtel TV and handset protection.
