Xiaomi Redmi 7: Specifications and Features

Like we saw in the leaked renders, the Redmi 7 sports a gradient design which is pretty much identical to the Honor 8C smartphone. The exterior of the Redmi 7 is polycarbonate, unlike the glass panel we get on the Redmi Note 7 and Note 7 Pro smartphones. On the front, Xiaomi’s new sub-brand Redmi has added a 6.26-inch HD+ display, boasting an aspect ratio of 19:9. Thankfully, the Chinese company has added Gorilla Glass 5 protection to the screen.

Underneath the Redmi 7, we have the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 chipset with a clock speed of 1.8GHz and Adreno 506 GPU for handling graphics-intensive tasks. While the Note 7 Pro is a direct successor to the Note 5 Pro, the Xiaomi Redmi 7 is a successor to the Redmi 5 that was launched in March 2018. As noted, the phone comes in three variants- 2GB+16GB, 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB; It’s good to see Xiaomi launching 2GB+16GB variant of the Redmi 7 in 2019. There’s a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 512GB, but sadly, it’s a hybrid card slot.
