Last week, HMD Global Product Chief Juho Sarvikas confirmed that the company would be hosting its Mobile World Congress event for the year 2019 on February 24. Soon after the announcement, rumours started making rounds on the internet stating that finally, the Penta camera Nokia phone aka the Nokia 9 PureView will be going official. Rumours also revealed that the HMD Global could be launching Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 1 Plus which have been subjected to rumours and leaks for quite some time now, at the same MWC 2019 event.

HMD Global is yet to reveal the name of the phones launching at the Mobile World Congress, but most rumours and leaks are hinting at the Nokia 9 PureView. One of the two newly leaked teasers also reveal the same. A new teaser of the alleged Nokia 9 PureView has been leaked and it yet again reaffirms that five cameras will be present on the Nokia 9 Pureview. Having said that, the Nokia 9 Pureview is the first smartphone to come with five cameras on the rear panel. Last year we have seen several phones from Samsung and other smartphone makers come with three and four cameras.

Nokia 9 to Sport 18:9 Display and Snapdragon 845 SoC

One of the two leaked teasers shows a Nokia phone with Penta-lens camera setup which definitely hints at the Nokia 9 PureView. The teaser further shows that Nokia phone will sport five cameras with Zeiss branding. Another teaser leaked on Baidu revealed the launch of the second Nokia phone with punch hole display. The phone with the punch hole display boasts of the same design language as the Samsung Galaxy A8s and Honor View 20. This could most likely be the Nokia 6.2 considering the Nokia 6.1 was launched almost at the same time last year.

Notably, the Nokia 9 PureView is said to be the first Nokia from to come with PureView-branding. Ahead of the launch, a lot has been talked about the Nokia 9 PureView. The smartphone is expected to come with a 5.99-inch Quad HD+ PureDisplay panel with HDR10 support. This Nokia phone is also expected to come packed with an in-display fingerprint sensor and face unlock support. On the hardware front, the Nokia 9 PureView is said to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Yes, HMD Global may not use the Snapdragon 855 SoC, the newest flagship processor by Qualcomm. On the software front, the Nokia 9 PureView is expected to launch running on Android 9 Pie operating system based on Android One.

Nokia 8.1 Plus and Nokia 6.2 Launch Expected at MWC 2019

Meanwhile, another Nokia phone called the Nokia 8.1 Plus has also been rumoured to come with a punch-hole selfie camera. This means that HMD Global could launch either the Nokia 6.2 or Nokia 8.1 Plus alongside the Nokia 9 PureView at the MWC 2019. Rumours suggest that Nokia 8.1 Plus is likely to come with dual camera setup on the rear panel with Zeiss branding paired with a dual-LED flash. The phone is said to sport a 6.22-inch display.
