Continuing its price cut spree, Xiaomi India, today announced a price drop on Redmi 6 Pro. The Redmi 6 Pro was launched alongside the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A smartphones back in September 2018. And it's the first time, the Redmi 6 Pro is getting a price drop in the country. The launch prices of the Redmi 6 Pro are Rs 10,999 and Rs 12,999, but the new prices of the smartphone are Rs 9,999 and Rs 11,999. The Redmi 6 Pro comes in two variants- 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB, and after the price cut, it's one of the best smartphones to purchase under Rs 10,000. Notably, this was the launch price everyone expected back then, but Xiaomi disappointed many. That said, it has now decreased the price making up for another major announcement.

Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro Price Cut: Is It a Worthy Buy?

The Redmi 6 Pro's base variant now sells at Rs 9,999 and the premium variant is available at Rs 11,999. Xiaomi stated the price drop is already valid across mi.com, Amazon India, Mi Home and other offline stores. The Redmi 6 Pro was Xiaomi's first Redmi smartphone to launch with a notch in India, but it disappointed many which is because of the Snapdragon 625 SoC.

Talking about the specifications of the Redmi 6 Pro, the phone packs a 5.84-inch Full HD+ display on the front, clubbed with 19:9 aspect ratio. Underneath, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset, paired with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage. Since it's part of the Redmi 6 lineup, the Redmi 6 Pro has a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 256GB. As for the cameras, the Redmi 6 Pro has a 12MP primary shooter on the back which works in tandem with a 5MP secondary sensor. On the front, it has a 5MP shooter. The phone boots MIUI 10 based on Android 8.1 Oreo and is backed by a 4000mAh battery.

What makes the Redmi 6 Pro special is its compact form factor and the dual rear cameras. In 2018, almost all the Xiaomi smartphones impressed us in the camera department and the Redmi 6 Pro is no different. Furthermore, the Redmi 6 Pro sports a notch and the phone has a compact form factor. The phone comes in various colour options, but the eye-catchy one is the Gold coloured variant.

The battery life on the Redmi 6 Pro is top notch as well. It runs MIUI 10 and retains the IR Blaster, unlike the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A smartphones. I have been using the Redmi 6 Pro since the launch and it's performing like a charm.

After the launch of Zenfone Max M2, the Redmi 6 Pro was overlooked because the former packs the newer Snapdragon 632 SoC. However, with the price cut, the Redmi 6 Pro is a decent option to purchase since it packs capable cameras, compact form factor and delivers reliable performance.

Xiaomi Mi A2, Redmi Note 5 Pro and Redmi Y2 Also Receive Price Cut

Starting from Monday this week, Xiaomi has made three major announcements and all three of them are price cuts. First, Xiaomi reduced the price of the Mi A2 by up to Rs 4,500. The Mi A2's base variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage is now available for Rs 13,999, while the 6GB+128GB variant can now be picked up for Rs 15,999. The Redmi Note 5 Pro is now available at Rs 12,999 and Rs 13,999, and the Redmi Y2's price in India now starts at Rs 8,999.
