Vodafone Idea Limited, which is the merged entity of Vodafone India and Idea Cellular has rolled out a limited period offer, under which the telco's prepaid subscribers can get Rs 30 Amazon Pay voucher. Vodafone Idea prepaid customers performing a recharge of Rs 95 or more than that will receive the Amazon Pay Gift voucher via SMS. This offer from Vodafone Idea is valid until January 10, 2019, but there are chances that the telco might extend the offer even further. The telco also stated that 15 random customers to get Amazon Pay vouchers worth Rs 3,000, while every prepaid customer will be eligible for the Rs 30 voucher.
Earlier, the telecom operator did away with the talk time recharges and introduced something new, known as the minimum recharge plans. These minimum recharge plans start at Rs 35 and offer 28 days validity with minimal data and talk time. The main aim behind the rollout of these minimum recharges is to increase the average revenue per user (ARPU) of the companies. To encourage subscribers to recharge their numbers further Vodafone and Idea have introduced a new offer under which it is providing an Amazon Pay voucher worth Rs 30 on prepaid recharges. This offer as noted above is valid till January 10, 2019.
Vodafone Idea New Year Offer: Everything You Need to Know
When subscribers make a monthly recharge for their Vodafone or Idea prepaid number, they will get a Rs 30 Amazon Pay voucher. The subscribers will be able to pay utility bills, recharge prepaid numbers and purchase products on Amazon via this Amazon Pay balance. However, there is a minimum recharge requirement for the Amazon Pay voucher which is Rs 95 or above. To note, the Rs 95 prepaid recharge for Vodafone and Idea prepaid users will ship 500MB of 3G/4G data for the validity of 28 days. The local and national outgoing calls, under this plan, are charged at 30 paise per minute. The plan does not ship any bundled free SMS with this pack. Since the subscribers will get a Rs 30 Amazon Pay voucher, the effective price of this recharge will be Rs 65. Both the telcos are informing customers about the offer via text messages. Also, users of Vodafone and Idea Cellular will get the Amazon Pay voucher via SMS.
It’s worth noting that Vodafone Idea has rolled out this new offer to lure the customers into recharging their prepaid numbers with the highest amount of prepaid plan. The minimum recharges will allow the customers to enjoy the benefits of services without getting disconnected. The same scheme which has been rolled out for Vodafone customers will also hold valid for Idea Cellular prepaid subscribers as well.
Incumbent Telcos Removed Talk Time Prepaid Plans
In recent times, incumbent telcos are making some major moves which are not going well with the customers. Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel have removed talk time recharges and are now forcing customers to make a minimum recharge every month. Airtel introduced a prepaid recharge of Rs 23 which extends your account validity by 28 days. On the other hand, Vodafone Idea has a Rs 35 prepaid plan which also offers benefits for 28 days.
