iPad Pro (2018) Edition Features and Specs

The new iPad Pro 2018 has been said to come with the most changes since the debut of the original iPad as it sports 11-inch and 12.9-inch LCD panel with ProMotion Liquid Retina Display which also comes with rounded corners and uses the pixel masking technology, the same one which is used in the iPhone XR. While the smaller iPad Pro 2018 bears resemblance with the 10.5-inch iPad model from last year, the 12.9-inch variant comes with a smaller form factor when compared to the previous year's variant. The refresh rates on both the screens are 120Hz, and the thickness of both the models is almost 5.9mm.

Powering both the models of iPad Pro 2018 is Apple’s own A12X Bionic 7nm chipset. The chipset comes with an octa-core CPU and a seven-core GPU with the latter offering double the improvement in graphics performance when compared to the last generation GPU. Not only that, but the new chipset also boasts of more than 10 billion transistors. There is also 1TB of internal storage. The highlight of the A12X chip is the new neural engine which we get to see for the first time. This neural engine is said to help the iPad Pro in implementing applications with Machine Learning.

The new iPad Pro 2018 also comes enabled with FaceID in combination with the TrueDepth camera. Owing to FaceID, the Apple iPad Pro 2018 also lends support to Animoji and Memoji which works both in portrait and landscape mode unlike in iPhones. The iPad Pro also comes with the gesture-based navigation system as we see in the iPhones. The Apple iPad Pro also makes its name as the first device with a USB Type-C which is going to be used for charging, data transfer, and connectivity.

It’s noteworthy that the new iPad Pro does not come with a 3.5mm headphone jack and there is also no Type-C to 3.5mm dongle in the box. However, the iPad Pro will be able to charge your phone via USB Type-C to lightning port cable.

We get to see a 12MP rear sensor on the new iPad Pro which is accompanied by a True Tone LED flash, and the camera also supports 4K video recording at 60fps. Apple has also promised the same 10-hour battery life for this new iPad Pro model, and it also ships the 18W power adapter. There is a four-speaker setup on the iPad Pro for sound including two woofers and two tweeters.
