OnePlus 6T Leaked Image Hints at the Presence of Triple Rear Cameras

Chinese smartphone maker, OnePlus will be releasing an upgraded variant of OnePlus 6 in the form of OnePlus 6T very soon. As the launch date draws closer, leaks of OnePlus 6T are coming thick and fast. After the retail box images, a new render of the OnePlus 6T in Red colour now popped up on Chinese microblogging portal Weibo, indicating the device will come with triple cameras on the rear side. Now, this is something very interesting as very recently Oppo has launched its first triple camera smartphone, the Oppo R17 Pro in China. So there are some huge chances of OnePlus including three cameras on the OnePlus 6T.

Triple Rear Cameras on the OnePlus 6T

As you can clearly see in the image above, the upcoming 6T has three cameras on the rear side. The three camera modules are stacked vertically. Below the second camera sensor, we can see the aperture values- f/1.6 and f/2.4. That being said, OnePlus might be bringing back the secondary telephoto lens with the OnePlus 6T, going by the aperture values. To recall, the OnePlus 5 arrived with dual rear cameras with the secondary sensor being a telephoto one with 2X optical zoom capability. However, the OnePlus 5T and the OnePlus 6 both featured a secondary low-light sensor. At the moment, we don’t have information related to the third sensor to be used by OnePlus.

Huawei, which launched the world’s first triple camera smartphone- the P20 Pro used a standard 40MP sensor, telephoto lens and a monochrome sensor. Maybe OnePlus will also follow the same pattern. South Korean electronics giant, LG could use a similar setup on the upcoming LG V40 smartphone.

OnePlus 6T Will Be an Oppo R17 Pro Lookalike

To recall, the OnePlus 3T was the last smartphone uniquely designed by OnePlus. The OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T both features a similar design to the Oppo R11 and Oppo R11S smartphones. The OnePlus 6 also looked similar to the Oppo R15 from the front, and now, the upcoming OnePlus 6T will look like the Oppo R17 Pro with its triple camera setup and waterdrop notch.
