After launching a couple of smartphones last month, Xiaomi India is gearing up for yet another product unveiling event in India. But this time around, the company will be launching three new smartphones under its Redmi 6 series. The launch event, which is scheduled for September 5 will see the launch of Redmi 6A, Redmi 6 and Redmi 6 Pro. A video posted by the company on YouTube revealed that it would be launching three smartphones in India next week and the poster image clearly hints the arrival of the devices mentioned above. Xiaomi has posted a new teaser image on Twitter stating that the upcoming phones will have support for Dual VoLTE, something which has become a quintessential feature in recent times.

Xiaomi Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A Might Only Feature Dual VoLTE
However, it’s likely that Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A smartphones only will feature Dual VoLTE, not the Redmi 6 Pro. The Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A both sport MediaTek chipsets, which is the reason behind the support for Dual 4G and VoLTE. The Redmi 6 is powered by the MediaTek Helio P22, whereas the Redmi 6A has the MediaTek Helio A22 SoC. The Redmi 6 Pro, on the other hand, has the Snapdragon 625 chipset, which doesn’t support Dual 4G, so it might be left off from the list of Dual 4G supported devices.
Xiaomi to Launch MediaTek Chipset Devices in India
With this new teaser, Xiaomi has nearly confirmed that it could be launching MediaTek devices in India after a long time. For the unaware, Xiaomi faced some issues with Ericsson which is the reason why the company did not launch any smartphones with MediaTek chipsets under the hood in India, but of late, we’ve been hearing that the issue has been solved between both the parties.
