Asus has launched the premium variant of the Zenfone 5Z in India at a price of Rs 36,999. The new variant offers a user 8GB of RAM & 256GB of internal storage, and it's also the cheapest smartphone in India to offer the configuration. The Zenfone 5Z is a Flipkart exclusive smartphone in the country, and it can now be picked up in three variants with 6GB/8GB of RAM paired with 64GB/128GB/256GB of onboard storage. There's a microSD card slot for storage expansion. The Zenfone 5Z is a real competitor to the OnePlus 6, whose same configuration variant (8GB+256GB) is available for immediate purchase on Amazon India at Rs 43,999. Notably, the Zenfone 5Z is way cheaper than the OnePlus 6 in India and some other markets too.

The Asus Zenfone 5Z sports a 6.2-inch notched Full HD+ display on the front, carrying a resolution of 1080x2246 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio. Internally, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, mated with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. As mentioned, the phone even has a microSD card for storage expansion.
The Zenfone 5Z, much like other smartphones releasing these days rocks dual cameras on the back. The primary sensor on the device is a 12MP one with f/1.8 aperture, 24mm lens, 1/2.55-inch sensor, 1.4µm and PDAF. The primary sensor is paired with an 8MP wide-angle sensor which has f/2.0 aperture and 12mm lens. On the front, we get an 8MP sensor. The camera app comes loaded with a lot of AI features to enhance the shooting experience.
Asus has also baked in various AI features into the company's ZenUI 5.0 Android skin, which runs on top of Android Oreo. The phone has a 3300mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and USB Type-C resides on the bottom.
