HP has announced its new laptops in India – the HP Pavilion 15 and the HP Omen 15. Earlier this year, HP had launched the Omen X gaming laptop and accessories in India including the mixed reality headset from the same series. Out of the two recently launched devices, the Pavilion 15 is more targeted towards a budget-oriented mainstream crowd while the Omen 15 is a more optimum choice for hard-core gamers. Along with these two laptops, HP has also announced more gaming accessories on Tuesday including keyboards and mouses.
HP Pavilion 15 Laptop
The HP Pavilion 15 features a 15.6-inch full-HD (1 920x1080 pixels) backlit widescreen IPS panel with a 16:9 aspect ratio, 220 nits brightness, and pixel density of 144ppi. There are the 8th generation Intel Core processors ranging from Core i5-8300H up to Core i7-8750H which power the laptop depending on the variant you opt. These processors clock a base frequency of 2.3GHz. The integrated graphics on the laptop include 4GB GDDR5 Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti which also comes with built-in Intel UHD Graphics 630.
For memory, the laptop sports an 8GB of 2666MHz DDR4 RAM and for storage HP ships a 1TB HDD clocked at 7200RPM. The top two models of the Pavilion 15 also get 128GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. Connectivity options include 1 USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1, 3 USB 3.1 Gen 1, 1 headphone jack, 1 RJ-45, and an HDMI v2.0. The HP Pavilion 15 measures 366x256.5x25.4mm and it weighs 2.2kg. The battery on this gaming laptop is a massive 52.5Whr with support for fast charging. Like other HP gaming laptop, this one also sports Bang and Olufsen speakers.
HP Omen 15 gaming laptop
The more professional gaming laptop, HP Omen 15 comes with 8th-gen Intel Core i7-8750H processor which clocks a base frequency of 2.2GHz, with the highest frequency going to 4.1GHz with the help of Intel Turbo Boost technology. The screen size measures to be 15.6-inch, and the display is a UHD IPS anti-glare panel with a brightness of 300 nits and refresh rate of 144Hz. For Graphics, buyers will be able to choose from Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti, GeForce GTX 1060, and a GeForce GTX 1070. Also, the memory options will include 8GB and 16GB DDR4 RAM which will be upgradable to 32GB. For storage, the Omen 15 will come with a 1TB HDD clocked at 7200RPM and a 128GB PCIe NVMe SSD.
Similar to the Pavilion, the HP Omen 15 will include connectivity options like USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, one USB 3.1 Type-C, one Mini DisplayPort, one headphone jack, an RJ-45 port, and one HDMI v2.0 port. It will also support wireless functions like Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, MU-MIMO. The laptop is also Miracast certified. The dimensions of the laptop measure 359.9x262.9x24.9mm, and it weighs 2.38kg.
HP Laptops Pricing and Availability
While the more mainstream HP Pavilion will start at the price range of Rs 74,990, the heftier and more gaming focused HP Omen 15 will begin retailing for Rs 1,05,990. The laptops will be available across all online and offline HP partners.
Apart from the laptops, HP has also announced new gaming accessories for the Indian gaming community. The new accessories include the Omen by HP Sequencer keyboard which comes for Rs 10,999, the Omen by HP Reactor mouse bearing a price tag of Rs 3,499, and the Omen by HP Transceptor backpack which will be available for Rs 11,999. Except for Omen by HP Mouse 600 and Mouse 800 which have already started selling for Rs 4,999 and Rs 6,999 respectively, all the other HP gaming accessories will be available beginning August 2018.
