Lenovo-owned Motorola has finally announced its Moto E5 and Moto E5 Plus smartphones in India. After the launch of the two phones in the USA, accompanied with the Moto E5 Play (which did not debut in India) the company has finally revealed its plans of launching the two phones in India. Motorola E range of phones has been known for their long-lasting battery life, stock Android experience and their solid build. Both the Moto E5 and the E5 Plus embody these characteristics. Price
The Moto E5 and the Moto E5 Plus will retail at the price of Rs 9,999 and Rs 11,999 respectively. This small price difference also means a subtle difference in their specifications too. If you are confused about what the differences are between these two phones, read on to know more.
Design and Display
The apparent difference between the design of the two phones is visible on the back. While the Moto E5 comes with a plain back panel, the Moto E5 Plus sports a 3D polymer glass design. The Moto E5 owing to its higher price comes with better aesthetics which resembles the Moto G6. The fingerprint sensor on the handset is much similar to the one we get to see on the Moto M, with the Motorola logo in the middle of the sensor. Also, both the phones – Moto E5 and Moto E5 Plus are touted to be splash resistant.
Speaking of display, both the phones come with the standard 18:9 aspect ratio screen. The Moto E5 has of 5.7-inch HD+ (1440 x 720-pixel resolution) Max Vision display while the Moto E5 Plus sports a 6-inch HD+ (1440 x 720-pixel resolution) Max Vision IPS LCD display.
Both the Moto E5 and the E5 Plus sport a single rear camera. The Moto E5 comes with a 13MP rear shooter, and on the front, the company has provided a 5MP selfie shooter. There is also a LED light on the front for better selfie shots. On the other hand, the Moto E5 Plus has a 12MP rear shooter with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, laser AF and LED flash. On the front, there is an 8MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture. Like the Moto E5, the Plus variant also comes with selfie flash.
Following convention, both the Moto phones boot stock experience of Android Oreo 8.0 out of the box.
Processor, RAM and Storage
The Moto E5 Plus packs the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 SoC clocked at 1.4GHz; the SoC comes accompanied with Adreno 505 GPU for graphics. The Moto E5 likewise packs a slightly underpowered Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset which clocked at 1.4GHz. Speaking of variants, the Moto E5 only comes in 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. The Moto E5 Plus sports a tad bit more RAM of 3GB RAM and it has 32GB of storage. Both the phones come with the option of a dedicated micro SD card using which users can expand the memory up to 128GB.
Battery
The highlight to the Moto E5 and the E5 Plus is the massive battery which both of these phones pack. The Moto E5 comes with a 4000mAh battery while the pricier Moto E5 Plus packs 5000mAh battery lending it more power and stamina. Both the phones come accompanied with the 10W Rapid charger and Moto’s Turbocharging technology.
The Moto E5 Plus has also already started selling online and on Moto Hub stores, while the Moto E5 is soon expected to be available too on both of these channels.
