The Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro is coming on June 25, as confirmed by Xiaomi earlier today. Ahead of the official launch, the Redmi 6 Pro's live images have been leaked online, giving a glimpse at how the smartphone looks. As the images listed on TENAA suggested, the leaked live images of the smartphone also reveals the presence of notched display on the front, carrying a 19:9 aspect ratio. These images are posted on Chinese microblogging portal Weibo, and they did not reveal the specifications of the handset. As you can see in the image below, the Redmi 6 Pro will sport a notch on the top of the display and Xiaomi will be customising its MIUI to take full advantage of the notch. However, what's annoying is the device has a big chin on the bottom.
The reason for manufacturers opting notch design is to offer higher screen-to-body ratio. Although the upcoming Redmi 6 Pro will offer higher screen real estate than the current Redmi devices with 18:9 displays, it will nowhere be closer to the screen-to-body ratio offered by the Apple iPhone X or say the Mi Mix 2.
To the rear side of the phone, we get dual cameras aligned vertically, again resembling the Apple iPhone X. Moving on, the tipster also posted an image of the About Phone section, which revealed few more details. The Redmi 6 Pro will boot Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9.6 out of the box. It will have a 2.0GHz octa-core processor under the hood, hopefully not the Snapdragon 625 SoC. Xiaomi might use the MediaTek Helio P23 or the Helio P60 chipset to power the smartphone because the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A arrived with Helio P22 and A22 chipsets. The fingerprint scanner is present on the back side.
The TENAA listing revealed that the phone would come in different RAM/Storage configurations and the device pictured has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The Redmi 6 Pro is said to sport a 5.84-inch Full HD+ display on the front and it will pack a 4000mAh battery. The handset might pack the same rear camera setup of the Redmi Y2 (Redmi S2 in China). A 5MP selfie shooter could be present on the front.
