Micromax has finally unveiled the Bharat Go Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone in India. Micromax was initially said to launch the smartphone back in January 2018, but it was delayed for some unknown reasons. Later on, Micromax showcased the device at the MWC 2018 booth, touting that it will launch the smartphone very soon in the country, which didn't happen either. Today, the homegrown company launched the device at a price of Rs 4,399. However, the smartphone's effective price comes down to Rs 2,399 because it's part of Airtel's Mera Pehla Smartphone program. Airtel is offering flat Rs 2,000 cashback on the Micromax Bharat Go smartphone.
Specifications wise, the Bharat Go smartphone carries a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek MT6737M processor which comes with a quad-core CPU with all the four cores clocked at 1.1GHz. Graphics in the smartphone will be taken care by Mali-T720 GPU.
The chipset works in tandem with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. For the users looking for more storage, there's a microSD card slot which accepts up to 128GB microSD cards. As expected, the Bharat Go runs on Google's Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition), which is the lightweight version of Android. The smartphone comes with all the Google apps such as Google Go, Gmail Go, YouTube Go and so on. Micromax seems to have tweaked the interface a bit to differentiate it from stock Android.
This dual-SIM smartphone comes with a single 5MP camera at the rear along with a single 5MP front-facing camera. Both the cameras have support for LED flash. Micromax has added 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and micro USB port as connectivity options. Lastly, the phone is backed by a 2000mAh battery.
The specifications of the Micromax Bharat Go smartphone are in-line with the specs of Nokia 1 and Lava Z50. The device will be available in a single Black colour option. The Rs 2,000 cashback on Airtel network will be given back within 36 months from the date of purchasing the handset.
