With the OnePlus 6 launch set for May 16, more details regarding the smartphone are surfacing online as the launch date is nearing. The upcoming flagship smartphone has now appeared on the popular Geekbench benchmark portal. In the benchmark, the OnePlus 6 achieved a single-core score of 2402 and multi-core score of 8931. Interestingly, the scores fall short of Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, which so far has achieved the maximum single-core score of 2468 and multi-core score of 9158. However, the OnePlus 6 might also score over 9000 in the multi-core test when it goes official with the final build of software.
As per the listing, the device will feature a model number- OnePlus A6003 and was running Android 8.1 Oreo during the benchmark. The device benchmarked had 8GB of RAM, same as the Mi Mix 2S whose scores are mentioned above. The OnePlus 6 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, as it was already confirmed by the company.
The OnePlus 6' launch event is set for May 16 globally, while the India launch and sale is set for May 17 and May 21 respectively. Earlier today, the company opened the event ticket passes to the public at 10 AM. And to no one' surprise, the tickets were claimed within a span of four minutes. OnePlus says that it sold over 1500 tickets for the Mumbai event at NSCI Dome on May 17. Furthermore, it also revealed that more than a million people have already expressed their interest in the OnePlus 6 by clicking on 'Notify Me' button on Amazon India. Notably, the OnePlus 6 is the fastest OnePlus smartphone to surpass the one million mark.
OnePlus also revealed that tickets have been purchased by members all over India including Ujjain, Allahabad and Coonoor and cities like Bangalore and Delhi. All the ticket purchasers will be travelling to the Mumbai event on May 17.
Before the launch itself, the OnePlus 6 is shaping to be a successful smartphone of 2018. It will be interesting to see how it performs in real life, especially, the cameras.
