Chinese brand Oppo Electronics has been under tremendous pressure in the Indian market since the last two quarters. The brand which used to have a market share of over 8% now has a share of below 5%, thanks to the resurgence of Xiaomi in the country. To counter Xiaomi and its aggressive pricing strategy, Oppo is all set to introduce a new online-only sub-brand in the country. The sub-brand will launch smartphones exclusively via Amazon India, maybe the e-commerce portal will help Oppo sub-brand in the country, like how Flipkart is doing for Asus. The e-commerce has already started teasing the new brand's launch as 'Collaboration Of The Year,' which explains the entire story.

The landing page of the partnership which went live on Amazon earlier today highlights 'A partnership of real me' tagline. A 15 seconds video was also posted on the website, which explains what the upcoming brand is all about. Great Technology, Great Design and Great Service could be the three pillars on which the upcoming sub-brand of Oppo operates.

Also, Oppo and Amazon will be unveiling a new smartphone under the sub-brand tomorrow. However, there are no details regarding the smartphone though. Being an online brand will allow the upcoming brand to launch a smartphone with excellent specs at competitive prices, like how Xiaomi is offering.

Oppo Electronics, the sub-brand of BBK Electronics enjoyed a decent run in the Indian market since their entry. The aggressive offline expansion helped the company gain significant market share in the world' second largest smartphone market. Oppo Electronics and Vivo currently account for close to 15% of market share in the Indian market, while Xiaomi is currently leading the Indian smartphone market with 31% market share. Samsung is second on the list with 25% market share.

It will be interesting to see how this sub-brand from Oppo competes with Xiaomi and other rising players.
