Google Play Store Recommending Lite Apps to Some Users

There has been a wide range of Lite apps making their place on the Google Play Store list these days. The reason for the same might be the demand for these apps from the people who have storage issues or low speed of the internet. However, the presence of these lightweight applications wasn’t prominently visible in the Play Store, until they were exclusively searched for.

Google is making some solid attempts to make these lightweight applications available easily to the users who might want to use the lite version instead of going for the full-fledged features from the original app. To do this, Google will be displaying information- whether or not the Lite version of the same app is present on the Play Store or not.

Although a lot of apps are not present on the Play Store just yet as a substitute for the original apps, however, there is a chance that the growing trend is going to fuel the development of more such applications. A similar feature has come up on the Google Play Store which displays the users whether a substitute for Android Go is available for the same app.

Google has been pushing towards optimising the Android platform for entry-level devices. The company has announced Android Oreo (Go Edition) last year and the first wave of Android Go devices starting coming in emerging markets such as India.
