OnePlus 6 Expected to Come With 256GB of Storage, To Be Priced at $749

The OnePlus 6 is arriving, and if Oppo-OnePlus earlier launches come into the picture, we might see the OnePlus 6 as early as next month. But today's leak is not about the launch date, it's about the 'super-expensive' price tag. Yes, the pricing of the OnePlus 6 is now out, and it will surely scare everyone until the official launch. With every generation of its smartphones, OnePlus kept on increasing the price. With the OnePlus 5T, it neared the 600$/Rs 40,000 barrier. While the base variant of the OnePlus 6 with 64GB of storage is expected to start around $579 or Rs 35,999, it's now rumoured that the phone will come in a 256GB storage option, which is expected to cost $749, which touches the Rs 50,000 price point.

Well, that' super unusual from OnePlus standards as the company never launched that expensive product until now and of course, there isn't a OnePlus device with 256GB of storage. But this leak seems to be a legit as the image looks like a presentation slide, where the phone is being compared with the heavyweights such as the Apple iPhone X and Samsung Galaxy S9+. The Apple iPhone X, without any thinking costs double the upcoming OnePlus 6 as per the slide, whereas the Galaxy S9+ is 40% higher than the OnePlus 6. The presentation slide also has the Huawei P20, but the phone will be launched on March 27 in Paris.

On the brighter side, OnePlus is finally bringing the 256GB storage variant, but that's a super expensive price tag, not when compared to the competition though. However, do make a note that this is the higher variant model price, meaning the base 64GB model will cost much lesser than this. As stated, the base price might start retailing at Rs 35,999 or Rs 37,999 in India and $569 in the US & other countries.

The design of the OnePlus 6 is expected to be similar to the Oppo R15, which was launched yesterday. As stated, Oppo and OnePlus usually launched smartphones with three or four weeks gap in between. For example, the Oppo R11 was launched during the last week of May 2017, and the OnePlus 5 arrived in the third week of June with a similar design. The same applies to the Oppo R11s as it was launched during the last week of October 2017, followed by the mid-November OnePlus 5T launch.

And if that continues, the OnePlus 6 will be launched as early as next month. However, the CEO of OnePlus had earlier said that the phone would be unveiled at the end of Q2 2018, but that's way back in December 2017. Did OnePlus change its plans? Only time will tell.

Besides the pricing, the presentation also says that the OnePlus 6 will have a 6.2-inch display, probably with 19:9 aspect ratio. Also, the phone will have dual camera setup of 16MP and 20MP at the rear, and the 256GB storage will be paired with 8GB of RAM.
