Xiaomi has responded fittingly to all those who are misusing the flash sales model. The company has removed the COD payment option on both Mi.com and Flipkart, where the company will be selling the Redmi Note 5 Pro (first impressions) exclusively. Since the unauthorised selling was becoming a big complication for Xiaomi, they finally announced today that they were putting a complete hold on Cash on Delivery options on both their official site (mi.com) and Flipkart. Xiaomi believes that this will allow the eager customers, who have really waited for the launch of the device, to make their purchase easily and will also drive away the unauthorised sellers from these websites.
When a phone sells over three lakh units in under three minutes, we know for sure people are going to be spending sleepless nights queueing on the websites waiting for checking out their orders. Xiaomi took the internet by storm when this happened some days ago during the initial sales of the Redmi Note 5 Pro. This news led to a lot of people wanting the phone for resale purposes for the aim of earning a profit. Finally realising the disparity of the situation, Xiaomi finally came up with a solution for this problem.
Apparently, letting go of the Cash on delivery option is not the only step Xiaomi has taken to reach their customers in a better way directly. The company is also set to open offline Mi home stores and is also said to be taking help of third-party resellers.
Up until now, Xiaomi has been dependent on the flash sale concept for the sales of their phones, but clearly, their strategy has become obsolete given the massive popularity and attention that Mi phones have been getting lately. Clearly, Xiaomi can definitely do a lot better when it comes to their production speed, and the ways in which they reach to their potential customers can also be improved.
The hugely successful Redmi phones have brought not only impressive sales for the company but also impending demands from the customers which the company might be falling short on.
